Ryanair Sucks (like serious ass)

Firstly, this is just my opinion and doesn’t claim to have any other basis than my on experince.

But Ryan Air (or RyanAir, or Ryan-Air, or www.ryanair.com) really don’t know how the hell to work an internet booking system.

Why, six days after booking on-line, do ryanair cancel the flight ? They know we had booked. They know we had paid. But they think it’s fine to just pull the plug. Apparently it’s up to us, the paying customers, to check a service is still availible.

If you had booked a driving lesson, or a back massage, and the company had cause to cancel it, then you’d very much expect them to let YOU know.

Practically every internet system is run from a database, a large store of client and product information. This system knew about our booking. This system knew about clares email address. Couldn’t some keyboard monkey link the two and decide that, “hey if we cancel this flight, we could use the existing contact details to let people know”. I’ve used a lot of shopping and booking systems, i’ve even written one or two, and this is very easily implemented.

We had a 2PM flight from London Stanstead to Glasgow Prestwick. We phoned that morning, quoted our booking reference and asked for info about an earlier flight. If we took the early flight it’d cost us an extra £30 per person. Instead we stuck to the flight we had, and no-one told us that flight no longer existed.

Imagine our dissapointment, when we get to the airport, only to find our flight had been cancelled MONTHS previously. But lucky us ! There was another flight coming back in just 7 hours ! And they won’t even charge extra to put us on it ! Wow, we’re like so grateful !

As I’ve said before, this is just my opinon, but in my opinion, Ryan Air can is the pits.

Its not just Ryanair that do that - they all do. Had to wait 7 hours before like that as BMI fly every hour but I know the frustration.At least you had a good time on the other end though
